This year, AHVRP is adding an innovative twist to National Health Care Volunteer Week (HCVW).
To streamline the collection and distribution of health care volunteer week best practices, events, photos, programs and awards, we are offering a mobile app to all those who celebrate this week and to those who would like to learn more about HCVW.
In the app, you will be able to
- Download the Health Care Volunteer Week logo and “selfie” photo cards
- Upload photos
- Get ideas from your peers on ways to observe Health Care Volunteer Week
- View sample event agendas, awards etc…
- Communicate and message with your peers on the 2019 HCVW Mobile App
- And much more!
Note: the cost for the mobile app for other users is $1.99 for AHVRP members and $4.99 for non-members. A portion of the proceeds from the mobile app will go toward 2019 AHVRP conference scholarships.

President Richard Nixon established National Volunteer Week with an executive order in 1974, as a way to recognize and celebrate the efforts of volunteers. Every sitting U.S. president since Nixon has issued a proclamation during National Volunteer Week (as have many U.S. mayors and governors).
Since then, the original emphasis on celebration has widened; the week has become a nationwide effort to urge people to get out and volunteer in their communities. Every April, charities, hospitals, and communities recognize volunteers and foster a culture of service.
Join your peers nationwide during the 2019 National Healthcare Volunteer Week, April 7-13, in celebrating and recognizing your volunteers' efforts to advance your organization.
This is an opportunity for you to recognize the integral role volunteers play in advancing patient engagement and quality care.
