In Futurescan 2018-2023, Mike Leavitt—former Utah governor and former secretary of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services—notes that health care leaders should develop more collaborative affiliations as the field becomes less siloed under value-based care.

Results from the Futurescan national survey show most hospital and health system leaders agree: 71% of respondents predict that, over the next five years, their organization will increase collaboration with other providers (e.g., doctors, hospitals, post-acute care organizations) and payers on population health management as a strategy to improve clinical outcomes.
