2018 Volunteer Week Events

1, 2

We are implementing so many fun things to celebrate our volunteers this week! We gave our staff supervisors ideas to celebrate their volunteers where they serve. We also hang a huge "Thank You Volunteers" banner outside our cafeteria, put a notice to run all week in our daily hospital-wide email detailing a few facts about our volunteers and asking all staff to thank a volunteer this week when they see one, and we'd left cute little goodies with puns and posters all around our office.

We will hold our annual appreciation event the evening of May 3 - it will be an evening of food, dancing and celebration with our CEO as the featured guest speaker. This year's theme is the Roaring '20's: Cheers to our Volunteer, taking inspiration from the Great Gatsby and the 1920's art deco era.

We are celebrating our volunteers this week by giving them a "Hand of Thanks."  Using paper cut out hands of many different colors, staff and patients were able to write words of thanks on the hands and we placed them on a large thank you card, along with posting the hands on the doors of the Patient & Family Resource Center.  In addition, we passed out a special thank you letter from our Executive Director and a tablet case filled with treats.
