Overview:
Three Best Practices for Interview and Placement will be presented, giving you ideas of how to place volunteers, when in the process to interview and orient, and much more will be presented. Have your specific questions answered as you hear about these specific programs and participate in an interactive Q & A session.

Andy Petersen has been managing volunteers for 20 years in a variety of non-profits including: Nashville CARES an HIV/AIDS Service Organization, Metro Social Services - Senior Services, the Frist Center for the Visual Arts where he created a volunteer program for a new art museum, to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he currently manages the volunteer program for Vanderbilt University Hospital (adult inpatient), The Vanderbilt Clinic (outpatient clinics) and Vanderbilt Health One Hundred Oaks (outpatient clinics). During the past five years at Vanderbilt, Andy and his team have grown the volunteer program, on the adult side of the medical center from 35 volunteers to over 300, with a wide variety of new placements. He just recently completed a two year term as President of the Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer Professionals organization.
Rev. Ann Lantz, M.Div has served as the director of Chaplains for Parkview Hospital for the past 18 years and the Director of Volunteer Services since 2008. In the time that Ann has overseen the Volunteer Services department the number of volunteers has increase from 300 to over 700. Ann has received the Women in Leadership Award from Indiana’s NewsCenter (ABC and NBC Affiliates) and the YWCA of Fort Wayne/Allen County’s Women of Achievement Award.
Lisa Coble, CAVS has over 20 years of experience in volunteer administration in a variety of health care settings. She spent 9 years as Volunteer Coordinator, Hospice Volunteers and Office Support at Visiting Nurse Services of Washington County & Jamestown, 2 years as Director of Volunteers and Gift Shop Supervisor at Butler Hospital, Inpatient Psychiatric Setting, and over 10 years as Director of Volunteer Services and Information Desk at Newport Hospital, General Community Inpatient Hospital. She received a BA in Speech Communication & Marketing from the University of Rhode Island. She is a member of NEADHVS, RI Association of Healthcare Volunteer Administration and served a 2 year term as RIAHVA president.
