Beyond the Basics: A Strategic Approach to Advancing Volunteer Services

Overview: Beyond the Basics is intended for experienced/CAVS-level volunteer directors who are comfortable with the fundamentals of volunteer management and eager to take their department operations to the next level.   The session will lay the foundation for understanding how to evaluate your department’s core work and employ the concept of management capacity into departmental operations.  You will be challenged to create and implement innovative strategies that will help their departments strive.

Learning Objectives:

  • Make critical decisions about the mission, purpose and direction of your department.
  • Improve your effectiveness and impact your department in order to better serve patients and visitors of your institution.
  • Identify best practices amongst your own work and use those as models for standardization.
