  • Are you challenged with finding ways that volunteers can make a significant difference to those with whom they interact?
  • Are your volunteers looking for meaningful interactions with patients that have a need for human presence?

Get these answers and more when you review the past, present, and future standards to offer practical options for understanding and complying with Joint Commission expectations. This interactive program includes current information, humor, best practices, and provides opportunities for networking that strengthens volunteer services programs! With unannounced surveys, tracer methodology, and new standards that explicitly identify healthcare volunteers, the Joint Commission recognizes the importance and impact that volunteers can have in direct patient contact areas. Learn how to stay in constant readiness for your patients and TJC!

Through a live presentation with Power Point and an interactive Q&A session, participants learn to:

  • Understand the new numbering system and chapters for the 2009 Joint Commission Standards and National Patient Safety Goals
  • Better prepare for Joint Commission Survey through appropriate documentation
  • Access volunteer services resources to improve their programs
  • Have a clearer perception of what Joint Commission requires to achieve compliance of the standards

Presented at the 2008 AHVRP Annual Conference to a record number of attendees and having received outstanding evaluations from the participants, this session is now available to you!  Registered participants will receive one set of materials e-mailed (you may photocopy) and one toll-free telephone connection to the seminar.
