AHVRP Highlights
The Association for Healthcare Volunteer Resource Professionals (AHVRP) is pleased to offer this credential that recognizes its members as proficient in their field. In 2010, AHVRP began collaboration with CCVA (Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration) for management of the CAVS program. Under this agreement, all current CAVS retained their certification.
Listen to an in-depth discussion of the CAVS program and download the handouts.
Candidates will take the exam via a web-based e-testing service at their own facilities once specific requirements are fulfilled regarding proctoring of the exam. For more information on how to schedule an exam please visit the CCVA website. Another valuable resouce is the 3rd edition CAVS Review Guide designed to help you pass the exam. AHVRP member Staci E. Fry M.A., CAVS, Director, Volunteer Services, Great River Health Systems, in West Burlington, IA, said, " I reviewed all of the materials recommended by the AHVRP as well as participated in a CAVS prep webinar. Both were very helpful coupled with my experience -- bottom line is to just relax and rely on what you already know."

About CCVA
The Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration (CCVA) advances the profession and practice of volunteer resource management by certifying individuals who demonstrate knowledge and competence in the leadership of volunteers. In addition to the CAVS, CCVA also manages the Certified in Volunteer Administration (CVA). CVA is an international credential awarded to practitioners with at least 3 years of experience who successfully complete an exam and written portfolio process. Originally developed by the Association for Volunteer Administration (AVA) several decades ago, the credentialing program is now sponsored by the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration.
