Affiliated Group
Affiliated Groups are regional, state or metropolitan organizations of Directors of Volunteer Services who enter into written agreements of affiliation with AHVRP. The purpose of affiliation is to provide an organized structure that will enable AHVRP members to work together on problems of mutual interest; conduct educational programs; serve as a resource to related healthcare associations; provide channels of communications between AHVRP and the affiliated groups and its members; and to promote the purpose of and membership of the Association.

Affiliated groups provide valuable links between healthcare administrators of volunteer services in close geographic proximity. Improved communications and cooperation between members enhances national membership and gives members opportunities to provide input and develop professionally.

Regional Representatives
Serve to assist AHVRP in reaching out to our membership. One Regional Representative is assigned to each region with the goal of greeting new members into our association, networking with active members and contacting those who may have fallen away. Reports and issues generated from the representative's grass roots contacts are coordinated through the board membership liaison in charge of membership and brought to the Board.

Veterans Health Administration (VISN Leaders)
VA's Veterans Health Administration is divided into 22 areas called VISNs. Each VISN has a VA Voluntary Service Program Manager (VAVS) that acts as a liaison between VAVS field staff and VA Central Office Voluntary Service.

The VISN Liaison's primary responsibility is the facilitation of communication within their respective networks. They assist in compiling and disseminating data that has been requested by the facility Director, Network Director, and/or the Director, Voluntary Service Office.

The VISN Liaison also provide information and guidance to VAVS Program Managers within their Network.

Each VISN Liaison is a key partner in the successful management of one of the largest volunteer programs in our nation's government.
