Committees
   

Volunteers are the backbone of AHVRP's success. By participating in AHVRP committees and task forces, you can gain personal satisfaction, leadership experience as well as the knowledge that your work will help promote the profession, and your professional association in Leading America's Healthcare Volunteers.

We know that those who get the most out of their membership also give the most by participating in AHVRP initiatives. Position yourself for a truly rewarding volunteer and networking experience.


COMMUNITY RELATIONS COMMITTEE
Board Liaison: Nancy Fincher Williams, CAVS
Staff Liaison: Jada Peterson 

Strategic Goals and Objectives:
Develop roadmaps in direct alignment of our strategic map to create allegiance and growth in membership relationships.

Charges:

  • Create more “touchpoints” between AHVRP board and members
  • Create a virtual mentoring program between new-to-profession and experienced volunteer administrators
  • Use communication tools and one-on-one communications to explore membership needs as well as exploring a potential for succession planning in AHVRP leadership.
  • Membership survey (this should be done every other year)
     

CONFERENCE PLANNING COMMITTEE

Strategic Goals and Objectives:
To plan and execute annual education conference by selecting faculty and topics in the fields of volunteer management and retail operation professional.

Charges:

  • Review evaluations from past conference.
  • Chair will assign duties to committee members

EXTRAORDINARY PROGRAM AWARDS

Mission:
Recognize and celebrate best practices in volunteer management

Charges:

  • Develop a working timeline for program application, review and awards process
  • Communicate timeline for applications to AHVRP membership.
  • Collect applications and distribute among taskforce members for evaluation and selection of winners
  • Collaborate with Conference Planning Committee and staff on presentation of the programs at the luncheon
     

KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT
Board Liaison:  Patricia Q Garcia, CAVS
Staff Liaison:  TBD / Andy Burgus (technical)

Strategic Goals and Objectives:
To knowledge and manage membership current needs, processes and communication flow in order to provide value and meaningful benefits to both member and association.

Charges

  • Organize and manage LISTSERV content and data on the website to provide additional user friendly education and tools.
    • In collaboration with staff, act as conduit for members to make suggestions to improve the accessibility of the LISTSERV TOOL.
  • Organize and manage AHVRP Website content and data to provide additional user friendly education and tools.
    • Investigate other volunteer services related websites and recommend to staff potential reciprocal link opportunities of value to our members to include on AHVRP website.
    • In collaboration with staff, act as conduit for members to make suggestions to improve the look and feel of the website and keep it user friendly
  • Establish Measurable outcomes
  • Assess and provide additional tools to Advocacy Toolkit

    • Edit and proof monthly publication
    • Provide and gather “healthcare related volunteer administrative” stories and help build article bank as back up

LEADER RELATIONS COMMITTEE

Strategic Goals and Objectives:
Provide opportunities, assistance and guidance for members at the state, regional and local levels for the purpose of affiliated group and VISN development, facilitating networking, education and information exchange.

Charges:

  • Continue ongoing communication with AG Leaders to maintain current contact information in AG Roster on website
  • Develop understanding of AHVRP supported dual billing plan for affiliate and national dues
  • Plan quarterly conference calls and annual conference AG/VISN leaders’ meeting
  • Review/Revise AG/VISN Leader Tool Box
  • Develop plan for revision of affiliated group section of the website
    • Collaborate with staff to develop a timeline for implementation
  • Develop and implement a reporting/communication mechanism and timeline for affiliated groups to communicate with AHVRP on affiliate activities for inclusion in:
    • E-blasts
    • Newsletter
    • Website
  • Collaborate with staff to update AHVRP/Affiliated Group agreement

MEMBER RELATIONS COMMITTEE
Board Liaison: Stacy Scott-Berteau, CAVS

Strategic Goals and Objectives:
Promote AHVRP and the benefits of membership to its members, prospective
members and key stakeholders; and to continually assess members’ needs and
opinions.

Charges:

  • Develop strategy for 2 recruitment campaigns (goal of 1% increase in membership)
  • Develop a comprehensive list of AHVRP membership benefits and an implementation plan to demonstrate the value.
    • Develop a schedule for on-going review and revision
  • Develop and implement mechanism to make contact with all members at least 2x a year with an eye toward non-conference attendees. Collaborate with staff to develop the annual member satisfaction survey
  • Develop survey tool for new members to investigate expectations from their membership. Report findings to board in membership report.
  • Develop recruitment campaign to encourage membership from non-traditional markets (identify non-traditional markets).
  • Develop a plan to achieve and maintain 80% membership retention rate
    • Contact terminated members monthly with reasons for termination. Report findings on a quarterly basis
    • Demonstrate value of AHVRP
       

NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE

Strategic Goals and Objectives:
To execute the annual election of the association as specified by the bylaws

Charges:

  • Identify, review and slate qualified candidates for election
  • Slate up to two (2) candidates for president-elect for which one is elected
  • Slate five (5) in addition to the required number of members-at-large of which three (3) are elected
  • Slate six (6) for the committee on Nominations of which four (4) are elected
      

ON-LINE EDUCATION COMMITTEES

Strategic Goals and Objectives:
Develop and launch web-based, non-conference related education using available AHVRP resources including survey data, the DVS Advocacy Toolkit, AHVRP ListServ and the Certification domain areas.

Charges:

  • Develop web-based programs based on membership needs assessment (4) not to include Princilples
  • Develop audio-based programs based on membership needs assessment (4)
  • Review program evaluations to assist with future programming
     

PUBLICATIONS COMMITTEES
Board Liaison: Mary Rahaim, CAVS
Staff Liaison: TBD

Strategic Goals and Objectives:
Monitor, review and revise existing AHVRP publications for quality, timeliness, and relevance.

Charges:

  • Revise or retire existing publications based on schedule
  • Develop (and review) content for two key DVS publications: (1) pre-conference and (1) post conference
  • Review Program evaluations to assist with future programming
     

RETAIL OPERATIONS COMMITTEE

Strategic Goals and Objectives:
To provide retail management professionals in healthcare the highest quality of education, networking, best practices, and resources.

Charges:

  • Develop (and review) content for one retail publication
  • Develop one educational offering for each quarter (total 4) webinars
  • Review program evaluations to assist with future programming
